HOW TO PLAY
THE ANCIENT GAME OF SERAQETRA

For Two or Three Players

Each Player has his own UNIVERSE governed by his GOD.

Object of the Game: capture your opponent's GOD.

The playings pieces are: GODS, RULERS, AMBASSADORS, WARRIORS, PRIESTS, SPIES, AND MINIONS.

Each player has 25 playing pieces: One GOD, Two RULERS, Four AMBASSADORS, Four WARRIORS, Two PRIESTS, Two SPIES, and Ten MINIONS.

Minimum initial set up: 1 GOD, 1 RULER, 1 MINION in each Universe.

Players set up playing pieces in any configuration.

In initial play, players can leave pieces off the board to be placed in their UNIVERSE later during their regular turn.

No piece occupies the PALACE GATE for initial setup. After initial play any piece can occupy the PALACE GATE.

Only GODS and RULERS sit on the THRONE.

Players take turns and move one playing piece at a time during their turn. A playing piece can NOT "jump over" another playing piece.

All pieces move forward and backward.

When a MINION lands on an opponent's PALACE GATE, the MINION is exchanged for any captured piece except a captured RULER. The exchange PALACE GATE can NOT be a PALACE GATE shared with the opponent.

When a MINION lands on an opponent's THRONE, the MINION is exchanged for any captured piece, including a captured RULER.

Also each newly traded playing piece is safe from capture by any opponent for one turn.

When an opponent's GOD is in jeopardy, like an assassin having his victim in his sights, the player says, "THERE IS JOY."

If the opponent can get his GOD out of jeopardy, he says, "NO JOY."

If the opponent can NOT get his GOD out of jeopardy, the winning player says, "JOY AND HAPPINESS."

If there are two players playing at the moment of "JOY AND HAPPINESS," the game is over.

If there are three players playing at the moment of "JOY AND HAPPINESS," the losing player releases and returns all captured pieces of the conquering player. The losing player's pieces are removed from the board.

The victor now owns two UNIVERSES. The victor can put his off-the-board playing pieces any where in either of his two UNIVERSES during any of his next turns.

The game continues until one of the two remaining players captures the opponent's GOD and there is "JOY AND HAPPINESS."

The game is over.
