How to Play The Ancient Game of seraQetra

seraQetra is easy to learn but difficult to master.

Each player has his own universe governed by his own GOD. The object of the game is to capture the opponent's GOD.

When there are two players, there are two Universes.
When there are three players, there are three Universes.

There are seven types of pieces: GODS, RULERS, AMBASSADORS, WARRIORS, PRIESTS, SPIES and MINIONS.

Each player has 25 pieces: One GOD, Two RULERS, Four AMBASSADORS, Four WARRIORS, Two PRIESTS, Two SPIES, and Ten MINIONS.

Pieces move based on shape.

Circles and hexagons can move in any direction.
Squares move only through the sides.
Triangles move only through the corners.

GODS and MINIONS move one tile in any direction
RULERS move infinitely in any direction
AMBASSADORS move infinitely through the sides.
WARRIORS move infinitely through the corners.
PRIESTS move one tile through the sides.
SPIES move one tile through the corners.

All pieces can move forward or backward at any time.

Each player can put his pieces in any configuration he wishes and can even leave pieces off the board to be placed later in his universe. EXCEPT no pieces can be placed on THE PALACE GATES or THE THRONE during initial set-up.

After the game has started any piece can occupy THE PALACE GATES but only GODS and RULERS can sit on THE THRONE

If a MINION can reach an opponent's PALACE GATE the minion can be traded for any captured piece but not a RULER. If a MINION can reach an opponent's THRONE the minion can be traded for a RULER.

Whenever a sniper has his target in his sights, he says, "There is Joy." When a player has his opponent's GOD in jeopardy, he too says, "There is Joy." . If an opponent cannot get his GOD out of jeopardy, his GOD is captured and the victor says "Joy and Happiness".

May you all have "Joy and Happiness" playing the Ancient Game of seraQetra.
